2 weeks ago, I posted about dissecting flowers and how we also preserved two flowers using different methods.
Well, today we compared results. Both flowers were identical lilies to start out with.
This flower was hung upside down to air dry.....
This one was preserved by being covered in Borax.
Side by side difference!
The one that was dried in the Borax was much more brittle but still had all the unique features....
The air dried one was just wilted up.
Very interesting! Monday I hope to discuss this more with the kids and see what kinds of observations they come up with! :)
Nice photos! We haven't done this experiment yet because we didn't have any flowers in bloom yet. Now we do, so we will definitely have to do this soon. :)
